Level - Tyro Grammar and Writing Course is a supplementary course designed to fit with students’ school curriculum. Level Tyro is the first level for this course and is an introduction to English grammar for children level P3 – 6. It includes 27 lessons teaching tenses and their uses, parts of speech, punctuation and styles of writing. It is also designed as a stepping stone to the more complex grammar they will learn in secondary school.

 

        This course is creates their foundation for English grammar so they can build on it as they continue to learn. This course includes multiple review sections and applied writing practice throughout. It also includes 5 grammar and writing assessments to mark progress along the way. Throughout the lessons there are grammar tips, reminders of spelling rules and practice sections.

     

       At the end of this course, your child will take 2 grammar & writing tests and will be awarded a ‘Certificate of Completion’ and possibly a ‘Certificate of Achievement’ depending on their test results.

     

        By the end of this course, your child will have an understanding of basic English grammar and sentence structure, know when and how to use different tenses, understand the usage of the parts of speech and have improved writing skills.

      After this course, your child can move on to Level Hiker which is a more intensive grammar and writing course designed for secondary school students and is an introduction and stepping stone to the HKDSE Reading & Writing course.
