How Do We Teach Reach Higher?
All of our worksheets and lesson plans are specifically designed to cover the vocabulary, stories and sentence structure in the module summaries and exams.
WORKSHEETS
In every exam, a comprehension will be included. Whichever story the exam uses, the principles to answering the questions correctly are the same. Each worksheet has a comprehension about the story so that students can (1) understand the main points of the story well and (2) practise their comprehension skills like looking for key words, understanding the main point of the questions and writing the answer in a complete sentence and using their own words.
Reach Higher
Sentence structures from their school vocabulary booklet are included in the worksheets. Teachers will explain the meanings and how to make sentences well with these sentence structures that will likely be in their homework, module summaries & exam.
Reach Higher
Vocabulary taken from the story and school vocabulary booklet are taught in each worksheet. The worksheets tell students the simple English meaning of the words and which part of speech it belongs to (noun, verb, adjective, etc.) and a space to make their own sentence. This helps students understand all the vocabulary clearly and will be able to use it themselves in the exams.
Reach Higher
Our worksheets also include a 'fill in the blanks' section where students can practise using the vocabulary they have learnt. The exams also have a 'fill in the blanks' section, so this is good practice for students to be able to work out which word to use to complete the sentences.

SMART GRAMMAR
A big part of the exam is grammar. During the summer we focus on learning the grammar from their Smart Grammar book, and in our last review lesson before the exams, we will review the grammar points from the exam syllabus.
SCHEDULE
Each term we have past papers, mock exams and extra review lessons before the school exams. Look at our schedule below. Click the buttons to see more.
FAQs
Q: Will this course help with the speaking & listening exams?
A: We do not have lessons specifically for speaking and listening exams. However, all teachers encourage the students to converse often and read the passages aloud. The students also practise their listening skills by following instructions and listening to explanations from the teacher. We have found our lessons improve all aspects of our students' skills, including speaking and listening.
Q: What if my child needs to improve in grammar & writing?
A: Our lessons include a lot of comprehension and sentence making which helps students improve in these areas. You may mentiont to the teacher that your child is weak in this area and they can pay more attention to this area.
If your child is P3+, he/she may be invited to our Grammar & Writing classes, just let us know you're interested! (Please note: it is by invitation only, new classes each term & not part of WFJLPS curriculum.)
Q: What if my child needs extra lessons before the exam?
A: Just let us know and we'll arrange an extra lesson! Let us know early as the time slots fill up quickly!
Q: Do you give Module Summary Past Papers?
A: We do have some available if you request it. However, as the worksheets cover everything they need know for the MS, we find that reviewing the worksheet thoroughly is often enough. Students may print the worksheet one more time and do it again as an extra practice.
Q: How can my child get the most out of this course?
A: We highly recommend that students review what they learn in the lessons EACH WEEK. If there is something they don't understand, don't hesitate to ask the teacher. If you need more explanation on certain words or phrases, write it out in English, not Chinese - students learn much much faster this way. Write down any new points you learn if you think you will forget them! Each class has a Whatsapp group chat with the teacher, ask questions anytime.
